Up at 5:30 am again…..no rest for the wicked! I am typing my blog while Mike sleeps. Big day today. We are getting on the ship! The Diamond Princess. We are going to check in early so that we can find a Pub and watch the 49er game. GO NINERS!! We all have our 49er attire and are ready to represent!
We easily got onboard the ship and headed to our stateroom. We are in room D119 and it is about 4 rooms off the front of the ship. We have a great view of the Captain! Our room is amazing (mini-suite) and it has a separate sitting room with a couch bed and its own TV! Mike better be on his best behavior or he will be using it….LOL! We have 2 TV’s, a King size bed and a large bathroom with a tub! Yeah!
After we checked out our room we headed to the Churchill Lounge Bar to watch the football game. We dominated the bar until some obnoxious NY Giants fans showed up. They were loud and clapped in our faces….RUDE! So after the 3rd quarter we went to our room to watch the rest of the game. We didn’t like the ending…..very sad. L
We met our room steward, his name is Camille. He is very nice and eager to please us. J
We received a nice room surprise from Lou….a bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries. He is so thoughtful. We spent the afternoon unpacking, doing laundry and checking out the ship. We went to the Mustering and then on top of the deck to watch us depart from Auckland. We had a nice dinner and visited the casino. It is really nice and I won $150 on Wheel of Fortune slots! Off to bed at 11:00pm.
Heading for Tauranga, NZ tomorrow.
