Monday, January 30th

This is our 3rd Sea Day in a row.  It wouldn’t be so bad if the ship was smooth sailing but it’s not.  Today it is very cloudy and gloomy outside.  It is also rocky and bumpy still too.  White caps are everywhere.
We get up and get dressed, take some Bonine and I go to the Wheelhouse Lounge for a Nikon Photography Class.  Mike goes to breakfast and to read his iPad book.  When the Photography Class was over Mike and I decided to go to the Atrium Bar and play cards.  While we were there the Captain gave his Noon update and said that we have a surprise (his words) that there is a 3rd storm coming in behind us that we didn’t anticipate.  I feel like we’re on the Titanic at this point.  The waves are so high and it is now raining.  They had to close off the Promenade Deck and now our sliding glass door in our room is leaking.   The Captain said that the new storm should catch us about Midnight tonight and last until about 6-7:00 am tomorrow morning.  We are due to arrive in Hobart, Tasmania around 8 am but we may be late.  We braved the climb up to the 14th floor (Lido Deck) for some lunch where we sit with a nice couple from Australia.  We then took a stroll through the casino where Mike continues to win.  Mom is trying to qualify for the Blackjack Tournament and Dad is playing “Texas Hold’em) with Mike.  Now it is nap time for Mike and I am going to play Bingo!
After Mike’s nap we went to see the movie “50-50” in the Princess Theatre before we went to dinner.
Captains message at 7:00 pm tonight…..”Rough night ahead, swells up to 15+ feet high starting around midnight…..make sure your bathroom doors are closed and you don’t have anything lying around that may cause injury.  Use handrails and stay off the open decks.”
Dinner was good and most of our table had Cherries Jubilee for dessert.  Some, not to mention any names had more than one dessert!  We were worried about the new storm coming in so we decided to go to our room earlier and get some sleep.  That didn’t last long as the swells got so big so fast that we were woken up at 1:00 am with things moving in our room, the boat horribly rocking and the wind noise coming through our door.  These waves must be so big….I can’t even imagine.  The jolting freaks you out every time you try to sleep.  I can’t wait until morning.
